Week 11- Intro to Humanities
Performing Arts/Music
Weekly Questions:
- Describe a LIVE event you attended. Was it more moving than what you would have experienced had you viewed the play at home or listened to the music in your car or on headphones? What else do you get at a live event that you don't get from recorded versions of the same performances?
My First Concert
The first concert I ever attended was Taylor Swift with my dad. I think I was 10 or 11 at the time, and I can remember standing in the crowd feeling awestruck. How everyone in the crowd seemed to follow her every move was cool. My dad got the tickets last minute, which was a good thing, too, because we ended up in the front row, and I got to see Ed Sheeran too. It was definitely better than listening to my earbuds and watching her on a screen.
At a live event, you get the immersive experience of being in the same space as the performers, witnessing their talent, energy, and emotions up close. You also get to feel the energy of the audience, creating a shared experience that adds to the overall atmosphere and intensity of the performance. This connection and sense of being part of something special is unique to live events and cannot be fully captured in recorded versions.
That's more like it. A personal reaction with a personal experience. Well done.
