Sunday, September 24, 2023 Week 5- Intro to Humanities Language Weekly Questions: How does language influence the way we think, act, and perceive the world? How do authors use the resources of language to impact an audience? Language      Language profoundly shapes our thinking, behaviour, and worldview. It enables us to express our thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Different languages have unique vocabularies, grammar, and cultural nuances, influencing our perspective and understanding of reality. Additionally, language influences our communication styles, social interactions, and even cognitive processes, such as memory and problem-solving. Our linguistic capabilities shape our perception of the world and can open or limit our awareness of different concepts and ideas.      Authors use various linguistic resources such as diction, tone, imagery, and figurative language to influence and engage their audience. Week 4 - Intro to Humanities Reflective Learning

Sunday, September 17, 2023 Week 4- Intro to Humanities Religion Weekly Questions: How has religion impacted your life?  If religion is not a feature of your life, why do you think that is? My Religion?     Religion is a part of my life, but I have struggled with my beliefs throughout my 20 years on this Earth. My parents took us to church as often as they could, but life gets busy, and it can get pushed to the back burner. I do know that I love going to church; I just think I don't prioritise it. I love going and hearing all the music; our church choir is one for the history books. They are so talented, and they make me feel all my feelings even when I don't think I have much emotion left to give. My pastor is a whole other story. He makes things feel so alive, chaotic, messy, loving, and downright crazy because no matter what he preaches, I feel like it was made just for me.      However, I have struggled with thinking, "God doesn't give you more th...

What turning points determine our individual pathways to adulthood? In a culture where we are bombarded with our people trying to define us, how do we make decisions for ourselves? Identities?      Yes, we form and shape our identities through various experiences, beliefs, values, and choices throughout our lives. Our identities constantly evolve as we navigate through different stages of life and interact with different people and cultures. Through self-reflection and introspection, we can understand who we are, what we stand for, and what makes us unique. Ultimately, we can shape our identities by embracing our authentic selves and making conscious decisions that align with our value...

Week 2- Intro to Humanities Reflective Learning

Sunday, September 03, 2023 Week 2- Intro to Humanities Personal Thoughts on Learning  Weekly Questions: What is your story? My Story?      When I think about my story, I know I can say anything and everything about when I was little, but as in my whole story... I don't know; it's just starting. I have no idea what my story is or who is writing it, but good Lord, sometimes I could use a break.  I don't know what my story is yet. I know what I want it to be and what it would look like on paper, but I will only know for a while. However, I would want it written down in a book if I had to write my own story. I want it to smell like a good old find in a library. It would have a dark blue cover, spine, and back. My name would be written on the front in curvy white lettering.      I want my story to be filled with happy stories, not sad ones, but everyone knows that sad moments are there to break you down and build you back up stronger than before. I've ...
